Change your password while signed in

If you can access your account, open Account from the account dropdown and use the password settings section.

Choose a strong password that is not used on other services. After changing it, use the new password the next time you sign in.

Reset a forgotten password

If you cannot sign in, use the password reset link from the login page.

General steps:

  1. Open the login page.
  2. Choose the password reset option.
  3. Enter your account email address.
  4. Open the reset email.
  5. Follow the link before it expires.
  6. Set a new password.

If the email does not arrive, check spam, promotions, and security filtering.

Password reset email expiry

Password reset links expire for security. If the link has expired, request a new reset email.

Only use the latest password reset email. Older reset links may no longer work after a newer reset is requested.

If you use Google sign-in

If your account uses Google sign-in, your password is managed by Google, not UserTrail. Use your Google account settings to change or recover access.

If you are unsure whether your account uses password login or Google login, try signing in with the method you normally use.

Security tips

  • Use a unique password.
  • Do not share logins with teammates.
  • Invite team members to sites instead.
  • Change your password if you suspect unauthorized access.
  • Remove team members who no longer need access.

Troubleshooting

If password reset does not work:

  • confirm the email address is correct
  • check spam or filtering rules
  • request a new reset link
  • open the link in the same browser you use to sign in
  • contact support if the account email is no longer accessible
