What agency features are for

Agency features help teams manage UserTrail for client websites. They are designed for users who report analytics findings to clients and need branded exports.

Agency accounts can use:

Set your agency name

Open the Agency page and add the agency name you want shown on reports. This name is used where reports need agency branding.

Use the client-facing agency name rather than an internal company name.

Add report branding

Upload your agency logo or client-facing report branding. UserTrail uses the branding image in supported reports, including client reports and heatmap reports.

For best results:

  • use a clear logo
  • avoid very small text
  • use a transparent PNG when possible
  • keep the image file reasonably small

Generate client reports

Client reports summarise important analytics for a selected date range. They can include traffic, conversion, heatmap, session replay, friction, forms, surveys, opportunities, and recommended actions.

Use client reports for:

  • monthly client updates
  • campaign performance reviews
  • conversion optimisation retainers
  • website redesign analysis
  • stakeholder reporting

Manage client access

If clients need direct access, invite them to the relevant site with read-only permissions. This lets them view reports without changing settings.

For many clients, a scheduled or downloaded report may be enough. Choose direct access only when the client needs to explore data themselves.

Best practices

  • Keep each client as a separate site.
  • Use clear site names.
  • Add agency branding before exporting reports.
  • Use read-only permissions for client users.
  • Review client reports before sharing them.
  • Keep sensitive session data access limited.
