What weekly reports are

Weekly reports are email summaries that help you monitor site performance without logging in every day. They highlight key activity and link back to the dashboard for deeper investigation.

Weekly reports can include:

Who receives weekly reports

Weekly reports are sent to the relevant account or site users based on UserTrail email settings and product configuration.

If you manage several sites, each report should clearly identify which site it covers.

How to read the report

Start with the headline metrics, then review the sections with the largest changes or most important business impact.

Useful checks include:

  • did sessions increase or decrease
  • did a top page change unexpectedly
  • did a funnel step lose more visitors than usual
  • did form submissions drop
  • did friction increase
  • are there new recordings worth watching

Report links take you back to the relevant dashboard pages. Use them to continue the investigation with the same site context.

Examples:

  • dashboard link for the full site overview
  • heatmap link for a specific page
  • funnel link for conversion drop-off
  • form link for form analytics
  • sessions link for replay review

When to act on a weekly report

Investigate when the report shows:

  • a sudden traffic change
  • a conversion drop
  • increased friction
  • form submit failures
  • new 404s or broken links
  • unusual session behaviour

Small changes can be normal. Look for repeated trends, large changes, or problems on important pages.

Best practices

  • Review the report at the same time each week.
  • Open the dashboard for anything unusual.
  • Compare changes with campaigns and releases.
  • Share important findings with the team.
  • Use weekly reports to catch issues before monthly reporting.
